The Texas Instruments TLC2578EVM is a Evaluation Board for Analog to Digital Converters (ADCs). The TLC2578EVM is used to evaluate the performance of the TLC2578 ADC. The TLC2578 is an 8-bit CMOS analog-to-digital converter with a maximum sampling rate of 1MHz. It offers excellent linearity and a wide dynamic range. The TLC2578 makes use of an sigma-delta architecture, which enables high speed sampling of signals with very low power consumption. The board utilizes an intelligent loopback buffer to detect and switch between five different input voltage ranges: 0V to 5V, 5V to 0V, 0V to 3.3V, 3.3V to 0V, and 0V to 1.8V. This allows for easy testing of the ADC performance over different input ranges. The board includes an on-board voltage regulator which supplies a single +5V supply for the ADC. Additionally, the on-board voltage reference allows for the input and output buffers to be operated at the same voltage. This ensures that the ADC performance is accurately measured. The TLC2578EVM also provides access to all of the TLC2578 features and IO pins. This includes control of the reference voltage (VREF), sampling rate, data processing mode, and LED driver.
