TLC274BCNS Application Field and Working Principle The TLC274BCNS is a Linear - Amplifiers - Instrumentation, OP Amps, Buffer Amp specifically designed for single-supply applications. A wide range of operational power supply voltages, from 4V to 16V, is typically used to maximize flexibility. This amplifying device is available in both quad and dual versions, with all versions having a very low offset and providing high gain, low distortion and wide supply voltage range.The Quad version of the TLC274BCNS has four operating amplifiers, each with an individual power supply. The device is composed of two input buffers, two SPDT (Single-Pole-Double-Throw) switches, four variable gain amplifiers, an output buffer and a voltage reference output. Two variable gain amplifiers are industry standard and the other two have enhanced features such as a higher input impedance, pre-amplifier gain and much better tolerance to noise and cross talk.Due to its excellent performance, the TLC274BCNS is widely used in a variety of applications such as data converters, instrumentation amplifiers, signal conditioning circuits and analogue-to-digital converters.In terms of its actual working principle, the TLC274BCNS can be thought of as a four-op-amp voltage follower connected to four resistors through a pair of SPDT switches. This allows the resistance of each resistor to be adjusted by the switch. Consequently, the voltage output of the TLC274BCNS is proportional to the sum of the voltages at its four inputs.Each op-amp in the TLC274BCNS has its own individual power supply, enabling it to work effectively over a wide range of input voltages. This simplifies the design of the circuitry and minimizes the amount of current draw from the power supply.The TLC275BCNS is extremely versatile and can provide amplification of signals in the range of 0 to 10V. It also has a high input impedance and can amplify signals with a frequency range of DC to 800 kHz. It also has a low input bias current and a high common mode rejection ratio of more than 90dB. The power to the device may be provided by an external supply, but the device itself can choose the best power source based on the input voltage. It can also be used in a dual-power-supply configuration, with one supply providing a ground reference while the other supplies power in the opposite direction.
