TLE4262GMXUMA1 Working Principle

The TLE4262GMXUMA1 is a three terminal adjustable linear voltage regulator and it is basically a voltage divider. The input voltage is taken from the input pin(VIN) and then applied to the regulating element, which is a series PN junction diode (regulated element). The diode can block current when a voltage is applied to it. Therefore, a resistance is connected in series with the PN junction diode and the output voltage is taken from the other terminal of the resistor. The output voltage is always the same as the input voltage, but at a lower current level.

The output of the regulator can be adjusted by changing the resistance value connected in series. The resistor connected in series with the PN junction diode determines the output voltage of the TLE4262GMXUMA1 regulator. By changing the resistor, the voltage drop across the diode can be adjusted, thus regulating the output of the regulator.
