The TLP155E Gate Driver is an isolator designed to provide high-speed isolation between high-speed logic signals on the primary (transmitter) side of the isolator and logic signals on the secondary (receiver) side. The TLP155E isolator is designed to operate in the industrial, medical, commercial and military environments. It is ideal for applications such as motor control systems, rail signal, railway systems, power control systems, industrial control systems, distributed control systems, and communication systems.
The TLP155E Gate Driver is an opto-coupler that uses opto-absorptive technology to provide electrical isolation between the 38 Mbps output logic signal and the 5 Mbps input logic signal. The TLP155E isolated gate driver has an isolation voltage of 2500Vrms and is capable of driving both high-end and low-end fan-out loads to provide exceptional switching rates and digital isolation. The isolator operates in conjunction with a control pulse trigger signal, typically an enable signal, to switch the output logic signal on or off.
The TLP155E Gate Driver consists of a primary side optical isolator, a power regulating element, and a secondary side optical isolator. The primary side circuit contains a microcontroller, an opto-transistor, a frequency reference oscillator, and an IC that controls the wave shape of the output signal. The secondary side opto-coupler circuit contains the opto-transistor, the power regulating element, and the opto-coupler LED.
