The TLP2704E is a small-sized highly efficient opto-isolator IC primarily designed for use in the digital logic output field. The most common application for using a TLP2704E is to provide protection to digital logic output from excess electrical discharge, thus preventing system malfunction.
The TLP2704E consists of a gallium arsenide infrared-emitting diode, optical separator, and a silicon NPN photo-transistor. When the diode is forward biased, it emits a beam of infrared radiation that is intercepted by the phototransistor’s base-collector junction.
