The TLV7211AIDR is a single-supply, low-voltage, dual-slope comparator with rail-to-rail inputs and a guaranteed 0.6-volt hysteresis operation. It is ideal for low-power, portable applications. This device is classified as a linear-comparator as it has a linear transfer function with input slope controlled by a resistive divider. A resistor divider is used to set the hysteresis level where one resistor, the RG, sets the trip point and the other resistor, the RH, sets the difference between the trip point and the reset point.

The TLV7211AIDR contains two independent comparators connected in series, forming an inverting and a non-inverting comparator. The device features an input protection diode, an open-drain output stage, a fast response time, independent hysteresis setpoints, a wide supply range, and fast rise and fall times.

This device has many application fields and can be used in wide range of industries as its small size, low power consumption and wide supply range makes it suitable for use in any environment. It is used in linear voltage regulation which provides a simple, cost effective way to control the output voltage of circuits. It is also very useful for motor control applications as it can detect current flowing through a motor and accurately control motor speed.
