The TMDSEXP1808L evaluation board is a Microcontroller unit (MCU) or Digital Signal Processor (DSP) board which offers a range of features to evaluate and test a range of functions for the design, development, verification, and testing of embedded applications for a variety of applications. The board is capable of creating and integrating a variety of system functions such as memory, storage, networking, communication, graphics, power management, and digital signal processing.
The TMDSEXP1808L evaluation board is primarily used for evaluation and prototyping of embedded application development, including Application-Specific Integrated Circuits (ASICs), embedded software, system software, network protocol stacks, operating systems, and device drivers. It is suitable for testing, verifying, and optimizing embedded systems, and for designing a range of general embedded applications.
The TMDSEXP1808L evaluation board is based on the powerful TMS320F28DPLC18 microcontroller or digital signal processor (DSP). It has a 32-bit, 50 MHz CPU, with embedded RAM and a wide range of peripheral interfaces and devices. The board features a 128 KB on-chip flash memory, 256 KB of dual-bank on-chip SRAM, five on-chip timers, two serial ports, Two 12 bit analog-to-digital converters, two pulse-width modulation channels, two SPI ports, three USB ports, five I/O pins, a real-time clock, and an on-board debug interface.
The TMDSEXP1808L has two distinct operation modes: Simulation Mode and Real-Time Mode. In Simulation Mode, the board’s CPU is programmed to carry out complex algorithms, such as for a Multipoint Digital Signal Processor (MDSP). In Real-Time Mode, the board’s CPU is controlled through real-time interrupts and is used to control hardware such as motors, sensors, and other devices for real-time applications.
The TMDSEXP1808L is suitable for a wide range of applications such as medical and healthcare, consumer electronics, automotive, industrial automation, automotive, aerospace and defense, consumer appliances and audio/video equipment.
