TMP01ES-REEL is a high-performance temperature sensor. It combines a low-power temperature sensor and a solid-state thermostat in a single package, providing a wide range of circuit protection. This sensor/thermostat combination offers the ability to monitor temperatures over an extended temperature range while maintaining a high degree of accuracy.

The TMP01ES-REEL temperature sensor allows for measurements through its integrated voltage-to-temperature converter (VOC) which uses a two-terminal voltage divider. Through this configuration, the sensor is able to measure the temperature of a circuit with a high degree of accuracy. The VOC voltage divider is connected to a reference juncture point, much like a thermocouple, in order to provide the voltage reading for a temperature measurement.

The solid-state thermostat is a functional part of the TMP01ES-REEL temperature sensor, allowing for alerting of a temperature event. The thermostat is in-line with the VOC and programmed with a maximum operating temperature. When a temperature exceeds this temperature, a logic output from the sensor will be triggered. The logic output is a low-power signal which is then sent to a system\'s control system for further processing, alerting, or mitigation of the high-temperature event.

The sensor\'s applications range from automotive and industrial thermostat circuit control to positive temperature coefficients (PTC) thermistor applications. Additionally, the thermostat can be used as an over-temperature protection device in high-power-demand circuits, offering additional thermal protection.
