The TMP006AIYZFR is a powerful temperature sensor with both analog and digital output capabilities. The TMP006AIYZFR’s analog output provides a high-precision voltage output proportional to the ambient temperature measured. The TMP006AIYZFR relies on a unique thermopile sensing principle, called the Micro-Thermopile Temperature Measurement (MISHM). This innovative technology uses a pair of thermopiles to measure minute differences in temperature, providing an accurate temperature reading. The sensing principle of the TMP006AIYZFR works in a three-stage process. In the first stage, two thermopiles are placed in close proximity adding to each other if they are at the same temperature or subtracting from each other if not. This creates a ‘thermocoupled’ voltage, proportional to the temperature differences. This thermocoupled voltage is then amplified and filtered by the second stage and then converted to digital by the third stage.

The TMP006AIYZFR’s thermal performance is also excellent, with a low thermal offset and thermal hysteresis. The thermal offset is a measure of the difference between the output voltage reading of the temperature sensor at two different temperatures and is a measure of the precision of the measurement. The thermal offset of the TMP006AIYZFR is ±7 mV, and the thermal hysteresis is ± 3.7 mV.
