In order to cope with these changes, new and improved technologies are being developed to create different types of electric power systems. One of these new technologies is the AC DC converters, which are used to convert alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC).AC DC converters, also known as thyristors, are semiconductor devices that convert AC current into DC current. They are used in a variety of applications, including electric motor control systems, electric lighting systems and electronic circuit boards. The technology of AC DC converters is based on the principle of thyristor control, which is where the voltage across the device is continuously controlled.AC DC converters are generally divided into two categories: single-phase and three-phase converters. Single-phase converters are used to convert AC power into DC power in applications such as electronic appliances, lighting systems and electric motor controls.
