The TPS2110PWR is an integrated power management solution designed to greatly reduce the power consumption during active, standby and low power modes. It includes a PMIC (Power Management IC), OR controllers, ideal diodes, serial regulators, and power converters that together provide a cost-effective, integrated solution for automotive and other embedded applications.

The PMIC offers an enhanced feature set optimized for power savings in embedded applications. It offers up to four adjustable buck regulators, three adjustable boost regulators, one adjustable voltage regulator, one adjustable soft-start feature and one active-low force-on feature. The outputs are short-circuit and over-voltage protected and may be configured to switch on/off automatically upon system conditions. The PMIC also features a programmable maximum power limit for each output, allowing for optimized power consumption.

The OR controllers are a low power integrated switching solution that includes a fixed frequency oscillator, OR logic, and a switch driver. They are used to save power in low power modes by using a regulated voltage level instead of an unregulated voltage level. By utilizing the OR controllers, the device can operate with very low power dissipation while still offering the same level of protection. The OR controllers also provide an improved ESD protection performance over traditional switching circuits.

The ideal diodes are an efficient rectifier solution that eliminates the need for an additional rectifier diode. They provide much higher levels of efficiency compared to a discrete diode rectifier, and reduce EMI (electromagnetic interference) emissions as well. The ideal diodes also provide low dissipated power, low ripple, low quiescent current and improved thermal characteristics. The ideal diodes allow for much higher amperage weak signals and improved EMI immunity, allowing for more efficient power supply.

The serial regulators provide a reliable, low noise power supply solution for automotive or other embedded applications. They offer the same outputs as a linear regulator, with the added benefit of a lower quiescent current. This allows for a lower power consumption and improved overall system efficiency. The serial regulators also offer improved EMI performance and better transient response.

The power converters are used to efficiently convert power between different voltage sources to meet the system requirements. They provide a high degree of accuracy and provide a stabilized signal output. The power converters are available in various configurations, such as buck, boost, flyback and interleaved topologies. They also provide power savings compared to a linear regulator, as well as improved EMI and transient response.}
