The TPS23753AEVM-001 board is an evaluation and demonstration board and kit from Texas Instruments. The board is designed as a power-over-ethernet (PoE) technology reference design platform and is built to evaluate the features and performance of TI’s TPS23753 PoE Powered Device (PD) controller. The TPS23753AEVM-001 board consists of the TPS23753AEVM-001 and the TPS23753AEVM-002 modules. The TPS23753AEVM-001 module is a PoE powered device controller evaluation module (EVM). The board provides an isolated power interface that provides separate inputs for data and power transmitters. It also has two separate output ports, one to provide the main load adapter, and the other to service the TPS23753AEVM-002 dual port controller. The TPS23753AEVM-002 module is a circuit board that provides a secondary (extended) channel for connecting to an isolated load.

It also allows for software control of the power delivery system, by integrating a PD-side master and slave enable pins.

The TPS23753AEVM-001 board also implements various power source equipment (PSE)/powered device (PD) interface protocols to enable the connection between the PSE and the PD. These include the standard IEEE 802.3af protocol, as well as several proprietary protocols. The board is capable of negotiating with the power source and the PD devices over all of the protocols provided, and can identify the PD or PSE device at power up.

The TPS23753AEVM-001 board utilizes Power over Ethernet (PoE) technology to supply DC power over an Ethernet twisted pair cable.
