Working Principle
The TPS22968DPUR integrates two power switches, one high-side and one low-side, in a very small package -- 6mm by 6mm -- and guaranteeing low on-resistances with 2.5mΩ (typical value). It integrates a 100mA current source, that is activated when the IC is powered up, and provides additional current during startup or the inrush current generated by the load. By using a digital input, the TPS22968DPUR turns on or off the high-side and the low-side switch. It also integrates COFF (Complementary On / Off Function), allowing simultaneous activation of the two switches.
The device also includes Over-current protection which limits the channel current to a safe value. Additionally, it offers an internal Thermal Shutdown which protects the system against thermal damage by activating the internal switch in case of an over-temp condition.
