The TPS2383BPMR is a PoE controller with multi-port solution, it\'s a best-in-class solution which can efficiently monitor and control regular and high power applications. The functional block diagrams is as follow:The TPS2383BPMR contains several subsystems such as Power Over Ethernet (POE) controller and layout. The purpose is to manage power flow to a terminal from a midspan device by allowing the controller to detect a number of ports and controllers. The synchronous rectification (SR) driver is also implemented for low losses as power is transferred from the source to the destination. In addition, the controller provides adjustable voltage output and current limit that are almost linear from 0V to a user defined VDD. Furthermore, the controller can operate in bypass or normal mode depending on user’s needs and it is precisely adjustable. The TPS2383BPMR provides fast transient response by maintaining the current limit across a wide range of load conditions via control loop. In addition, the controller also provides adjustable voltage input (VIN) thresholds which is often used in the system to ensure that the correct voltage is supplied to the POE ports. The POE controller also prevents false assertion of POE events that would cause unacceptable conditions within the device, such as over-voltage, over-current, over temperature and excessive current due to short-circuit protection. Moreover, the controller provides reports via an alarm status register which can be used to detect failure in a user defined port.The TPS2383BPMR provides higher resolution for voltage and current sensing comparators. In addition, it is also equipped with various integrated features to help reduce system cost and simplify end device implementation such as selectable slow turn-on and fast turn-off Enable pin, Self reset enable pin and latency divider. All in all, the TPS2383BPMR is an excellent power over Ethernet (PoE) controller in terms of precise current limit, automatic disconnection and report features.
