TPS2413PWG4 Application Field And Working Principle

PMIC (Power Management IC) OR Controllers

The TPS2413PWG4 is a single-channel open loop OR Controllers that provides a wide range of overvoltage and undervoltage protection in a small package with very low power consumption. It monitors the system voltage and either disconnects the power source in the case of an overvoltage or provides additional source current in the case of an undervoltage. The TPS2413PWG4\'s internal control logic continuously monitors the system supply voltage as well as the power source in order to detect faults. In the case of an overvoltage fault, the device will immediately disconnect the power source from the system supply, thus preventing power being applied to the system, while in the case of an undervoltage, the device will provide the system with additional supply current on top of the existing source to ensure the system is adequately supplied and operate properly.The device utilizes an internal temperature sensor for temperature compensation, allowing for extended lifetime and enhanced accuracy. The device also contains a slew rate circuit which ensures smooth transition between levels for better load transient response and improved system performance. Furthermore, the TPS2413PWG4 is also equipped with a number of slew rate controlled output pins which can be used to provide Sequence and Reset outputs for further flexibility and integration. The TPS2413PWG4 is housed in a 14pin PPA, making it highly suitable for space-constrained applications.

Ideal Diode

Ideal diode is a type of diode which can be used to provide power-management functions. It is composed of two parts: a main diode and an ideal load.The main diode performs the basic task of allowing current to flow one way, and blocking current from going in the other. This is achieved by setting the anode of the main diode at a higher potential than the cathode, or vice versa. When there is current flowing through the main diode, this potential difference allows current to pass through the diode, while blocking current from passing in the reverse direction. On the other hand, the ideal load behaves like an ideal resistor, it supplies current at a constant voltage no matter the amount of current flowing and the voltage drop across the load. This is the key feature of the ideal diode, it allows current to be supplied at a constant voltage, no matter the amount of current flowing. This allows it to be used in applications such as power supplies and voltage regulators, where a constant voltage must be supplied. The combination of the main diode and the ideal load also allows for overvoltage and undervoltage protection. In the case of an overvoltage fault, the main diode will block current from passing in the reverse direction, thus preventing power from being applied to the system, while in the case of an undervoltage, the ideal load will supply additional current on top of the existing source in order to ensure the system is adequately supplied and operating properly.
