The internal power MOSFET of the TPS2550DBVR is a NexFET which delivers very low static and dynamic losses along with excellent thermal performance. This device also includes a patented input current limit (ICL) which prevents excessive inrush current during initial power up. The integrated power MOSFET also offers excellent ESD protection, as it is capable of withstanding more than 10,000V peak.
