TPS2554EVM-010 evaluation and demonstration boards and kits are designed for use in the field of power delivery and control applications. TPS2554EVM-010 is a single-chip power master solution for managing closed-loop current limits, short-circuit protections, overvoltage protections, and other power control features. The TPS2554EVM-010 evaluation and demonstration boards and kits provide an evaluation platform to validate and develop TI’s power delivery products.
To prevent system damage from overcurrent, the output of the TPS2554EVM-010 is designed to provide maximum current protection capabilities. The output maximum current is programmable via an external resistor. Current Sense Resistors (CSRs) that measure the output current at the load are provided on the board. When the output current exceeds the programmed maximum, the devices will limit the output current and enter a current limiting mode.
The TPS2554EVM-010 evaluation and demonstration boards and kits also provide a Peak Current Mode (PCM) that can be used as an alternative current sensing method. The PCM allows greater accuracy in monitoring the load current while maintaining fast response time to load changes. The PCM also allows for higher load current as the output voltage is constant.
