The TPS2559EVM-624 evaluation module provides an easy and efficient way to use TI\'s TPS2559 power switch IC for nearly any application. This module includes a single-output, two-output, or even multi-output power configuration in one solution. Through the use of an on-board I2C EEPROM, the user is able to pre-program the device to quickly configure and customize the power outputs for nearly any application. The device is capable of supporting up to 15V input, and 12A of continuous output current. The unit is designed to operate down to as low as 0.6V, providing ultimate flexibility in the field.The TPS2559EVM-624 is the perfect solution for evaluating the capabilities of the TPS2559, as it provides full capabilities at the module level. The module comes complete with all necessary components and connections needed for a full range of functions. This includes an on-board programmable temperature sensor, dual output power supply selectors, an LDO converter, an adjustable switching regulator, and a control or enable signal. This allows the user to quickly configure the power output according to the application\'s requirements.The TPS2559EVM-624 operates in a single power supply topology with two power supply inputs and three power supply features. The primary power supply input is the bias voltage which can either be directly applied or controlled by an analogue potentiometer. This primary power supply is used to power the internal power components as well as the programmable temperature sensor. The secondary power supply inputs can either be enabled or disabled. The secondary power supplies are used to power the output voltage converter and LDO. The dual power supplies are connected in parallel allowing a shared load current to be distributed between them.The TPS2559EVM-624 also includes a low-dropout regulator (LDO) and an adjustable voltage regulator. Both of these devices offer adequate dynamic response at high frequencies as well as a low load capacitance. The LDO is capable of providing a wide range of output voltages with low no-load current draw. The adjustable voltage regulator is capable of providing a wide range of output voltages as well as a low noise level. Both of these devices are designed to help achieve the most efficient conversion of energy possible.Lastly, the TPS2559EVM-624 provides a control or enable signal in order to control the power switch of the device. This signal is used to enable and disable the switching regulator as well as the LDO. Additionally, this signal is used to synchronize the internal clock with an external signal. This allows the switching regulator and LDO to both be controlled at the same frequency, improving the efficiency of the power conversion.In summary, the TPS2559EVM-624 provides a complete evaluation and demonstration board which allows users to properly evaluate the capabilities of the TPS2559. The module includes a single-output, two-output, or even multi-output power configuration in one cost effective solution. Through the use of an on-board I2C EEPROM, the user is able to pre-program the device to quickly configure and customize the power outputs for nearly any application. Additionally, the module includes an adjustable voltage regulator, a low-dropout regulator, and an enable/disable signal in order to further improve the system\'s efficiency.
