It is available in both through-hole and surface mount packages, giving the engineers an easier integration with both the old and new designs.
This device utilizes a state-of-the-art 3 rd generation synchronous buck controller to provide improved efficiency with superior line and load regulation, making it an ideal choice for high power microprocessor applications and for point of load (POL) power supply design.
Operating in the range of 8V to 36V, the TPS51461RGET is typified by wide range over-current protection (OCP) and over-temperature protection (OTP) to ensure that the system is able to accommodate high current while maintaining a very efficient power conversion. The device has also an extra option to enable full shutdown mode when no load is detected. This makes the device suitable for any application, where the user requires maximum system efficiency with an absolute minimum of power dissipation.

The wall adopts a synchronous buck controller which works on the principle of the “Active Clamp Reset”. It reduces the on-time of the switch and therefore minimizes the power losses. This helps to reduce the temperature rise of the component and provides a very high efficiency in power conversion.
