TPS51631RSMR Application Field and Working Principle
The TPS51631RSMR is a high efficiency, low quiescent current, high switching frequency integrated circuit (IC) voltage regulator with a wide input voltage range and output current capability. TPS51631RSMR is a fixed output voltage step-down switch mode power conversion controller. The IC has a low quiescent current of 6mA, and operates at a switching frequency of 2MHz. The TPS51631RSMR IC integrates a high-efficiency MOSFET switch, a fast current source and adaptive slope compensation, resulting in a fast transient response and low output voltage ripple. The output of the overall circuit is regulated based on the difference between the input and output voltages, which is measured and the output is adjusted. In CCM, the voltage on the internal MOSFET is regulated by adjusting the duty cycle of the MOSFET while in DCM the MOSFET is in a switching state and the output voltage is regulated by the frequency of the switching cycle.
