TPS54311PWPR

The TPS54311PWPR is an advanced synchronous step-down DC-DC converter designed for high current applications. It features a constant-frequency current-mode architecture, internal power MOSFETs and can deliver up to 8 A of load current. This DC-DC converter includes a fixed 520 kHz switching frequency with PLL synchronization up to 2 MHz, adjustable soft start time, adjustable current limit, and output voltage tracking. The default output voltage is adjustable from 0.6 V to 1.8 V.

Working Principle

The TPS54311PWPR is based on a constant-frequency, current-mode architecture to provide an excellent voltage regulation and fast load-transient response. A fixed 520 kHz switching frequency with PLL synchronization up to 2 MHz, adjustable soft start time, programmable frequency and current limit are also featured. The device also employs a type-III compensation technique and can operate in either continuous or discontinuous current-mode, as well as cycle-by-cycle current limit. On-chip logical circuitry is used to protect the device from over-voltage, over-current, overtemperature, and under-voltage conditions.
