The TPS54395EVM-057 is an evaluation board designed to facilitate the testing and development of DC/DC & AC/DC (off-line) power supplies using TI\'s TPS54395 switcher IC. This evaluation board provides an easy way to evaluate the performance of the TPS54395 and prototype off-line SMPS designs.

TPS54395 is an outstanding synchronous buck controller featuring a flexible architecture that can interface to different secondary side components as desired. Its flexibility is achieved through its wide operating input voltage range, its wide dc output voltage range, and its variety of external components. When coupled with a tiny controller such as the TPS54395, an off-line SMPS can be designed with compact size and high efficiency.

To meet the needs of different application scenarios, TPS54395EVM-057 uses a combination of programmable components and custom-designed components to help designers quickly create the off-line power supply of their choice. This would be virtually impossible to achieve with other evaluation platforms.

The 50-pin connector on the TI evaluation board provides the user with an easy and convenient way to connect the power supply\'s external components and make high-speed measurements of the power supply\'s performance.

To provide the user with a complete cost-effective SMPS design, TPS54395EVM-057 comes with a dedicated secondary side controller, highly optimized for the TPS54395. The controller\'s closed loop control is optimized for loads, environmental changes, and line regulation. The combination of the two parts offers the user maximum design flexibility.

The evaluation board achieved superior performance in terms of efficiency, stability, and line and load regulation when compared to competing solutions. With an output power rating of up to 32W, it can power a wide range of electronics from consumer and industrial products.

In terms of performance, TPS54395EVM-057 can achieve an efficiency of up to 85.5%.
