The TPS56300PWPG4 is a fully-integrated voltage regulator with a 3A DC-DC buck converter, integrated I2C-compatible PMBus interface, range of protection circuits and a low-noise Linear Regulator.

The DC-DC buck converter uses voltage-mode control topology, and the switching duty cycle can be varied based on a current ratio of the inductor current feedback signal and the internal reference signal. The device also features a high current Low-Side MOSFET that allows the buck converter to operate at up to 3A. The high-side MOSFET is used to control the gate of the low-side MOSFET, allowing the output power to be switched on/off when required.

The Linear Regulator is integrated to control the bias voltage of the buck converter when output voltage falls below 3V. The Linear Regulator features separate enable signals and can be independently operated. This allows the device to generate up to two independent output voltages.
