TPS60111PWPG4 is an integrated DC-DC voltage converter. It supports a wide input voltage range from 2.95V to 16V, while supporting a high-speed conversion mode of up to 2.25MHz and a low-speed conversion mode of up to 500kHz. It provides an output voltage range of 0.6V to 5.5V, and features an adjustable output voltage accuracy range of up to ±1.3%. Additionally, the device includes an integrated power MOSFET for reduced board layout complexity, on-chip current limit, soft-start, external reference, and overvoltage protection.

The device has a low quiescent current of approximately 4 μA in Power-down mode, and can provide up to 95% conversion efficiency. The small package size of 5×5 mm, along with the large power density makes the device ideal for consumer-electronic applications, where size and efficiency are crucial.

Working Principle

The TPS60111PWPG4 utilizes a rectified-synchronous buck topology and a Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) control scheme to provide a regulated output voltage. The device includes an on-chip power MOSFET and is capable of providing up to 1.2A of output current. The input voltage is regulated by the PWM control loop, which receives a feedback signal from the output and adjusts the duty cycle of the power MOSFET accordingly.

The output voltage is regulated by an active voltage positioning (V POS) circuit that detects any overshoot or undershoot, and adjusts the duty cycle of the power MOSFET to re-establish the desired output voltage.
