TPS61256EVM-711

TPS61256EVM-711 is an evaluation module that makes it easy to evaluate the operation of the TPS61256 buck converter. The evaluation boards include a 2-A, low-voltage, synchronous Buck converter, and is well-suited for portable and handheld applications requiring a small form factor DC-DC converter. It is a high-efficiency, low-dropout, low-noise, low-cost and wide operating voltage DC/DC converter module in a small footprint.

The TPS61256EVM-711 evaluation board is a 1.5V to 5V input and 1.2V to 3.3V or 5V output application board that has an on-board synchronous converter and a low-dropout regulator with very low ripple and noise. With a maximum output current of 2A, the evaluation board is ideal for powering portable and handheld systems that require a low-noise power solution.

Glass passivated super fast switching diodes D1 and D2 are incorporated on the board along with a low-noise inductor to reduce EMI and deliver 100% power efficiency. The board also features an on-board programmable enable/disable pin, two PWM/PFM control inputs, and a 10-level frequency selectable PWM comparator.

The TPS61256EVM-711 evaluation board features two operating modes; PFM or PWM mode. In PWM mode, the board operates in the frequency range of approximately 128kHz - 895kHz. In PFM mode, the board operates in a higher frequency range of 3kHz –128kHz. The TPS61256EVM-711 has an operating ambient temperature range of –40°C –85°C.

The board is a high voltage and low voltage DC/DC converter that provides both current limiting and over-voltage protection. The board provides a heavily regulated DC output as well as offering a wide input voltage range of 1.5V to 5V. The board features a high efficiency up to 96%, and accurately regulates output voltage over a wide line and load conditions.
