The Texas Instruments TPS62800EVM-892 is an evaluation module (EVM) designed to evaluate the performance of Texas Instruments TPS62800/2/3 adjustable sync-buck converter with a maximum output to 4V/6A. The EVM board provides two output over-current modes and offers a wide range of user-selectable features that allow for evaluation of the adjustable output voltage and current settings. The TPS62800EVM-892 is a complete and feature-rich evaluation platform for the TPS62800/2/3 family of DC/DC power converters. The external solid-state switches enable the user to evaluate the TPS62800/2/3 performance in both continuous and discontinuous mode operations.

With two MOSFETs to control the buck converter, the EVM can provide a wide range of output voltage and current adjustments with seamless transition between current and voltage control modes.

It also includes an adjustable PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation) or true peak-current mode control loop for improved EMI with low EMI radiation and low power consumption. The board is designed to support both synchronous and non-synchronous operation with multiple switching frequencies, providing a very high efficiency power solution, even at light-load current levels.
In addition, the TPS62800EVM-892 includes an adjustable foldback mode for increased power efficiency and control, as well as a spread-spectrum technique to reduce EMI radiation. It also includes an adjustable soft-start to minimize output inrush current during power-on/off. The board includes ESD protection as well as components and test points to facilitate characterization.
The board also provides an additional demo board to select the peak-current mode control loop or the true peak-current mode control loop. This demo board includes components to facilitate being able to quickly connect via the USB interface and to easily evaluate the EVM\'s performance. The board is available with various headers, handles, and test points for rapid system integration with the application.
