TPS630250EVM-553 is a member of Texas Instruments\' evaluation boards range which assess and minimize power issues. The board evaluates the performance characteristics of the TPS630250 synchronous buck converter, a low-noise, low-quiescent-current DC/DC conversion stage. It features an adjustable switch frequency up to 1MHz, allowing the user to optimize inductor size. The TPS630250EVM-553 is a complete evaluation module designed to support evaluation, analysis, and quick diagnostics of the TPS630250 in high performance power supply components. The TPS630250EVM-553 board comes with a built-in USB interface allowing the board to be connected and monitored from a PC running Texas Instruments\' graphical user interface (GUI) tool. Through its USB tab, the GUI can be used to monitor the operating parameters of the TPS630250 device, as well as to adjust the output voltage and frequency, and enable/disable the various power supply channels. Once the user selects a desired output voltage, the GUI allows the user to plot its response and analyze the behavior of the entire power supply system.
The board also supports a wide range of standard input voltage and output voltage ranges. The input voltage range can be adjusted between 2V - 22V, with input and output filter capacitor options up to 3300μF. The output voltage range is adjustable from 0.9V to 5.2V. The board also supports dual phase (2-Phase) operation, allowing designers to increase the available output current to match the application requirements. The evaluation board also provides an optional I2C interface, allowing designers to monitor on-board temperature and input current from remote locations. The board is capable of delivering up to 35A of output current.
In addition to its features, the TPS630250EVM-553 board includes numerous peripheral components designed to enable full system evaluation. It includes a USB to TTL bridge, enabling direct connection and control from a PC. It also includes an output compensation port for connecting external operational amplifiers, allowing users to fine-tune the output characteristics.
