The TPS650731EVM-430 is designed such that it is simple to use and low in cost. It employs a three-phase diode bridge topology to provide a high-efficiency ripple free AC to DC conversion. The TPS650731EVM-430 consists of a low dropout regulator, three voltage rails for power supply, and a switching inductor for regulation. When the input voltage is applied, the switching diode bridge rectifies it and the inductor stores the energy. On every turn, energy stored in the inductor is discharged and drives the regulator stage converting the AC to DC. The regulator further regulates this DC power to the different levels of DC voltages as per the supply requirement of the system. The TPS650731EVM-430 provides a high efficiency power conversion of over 90%. It has an effective filter design to remove noise and ripple present in the input AC power. The switching transistor of the TPS650731EVM-430 is operated at a high frequency resulting in a small size of inductor and filter components.
