The board features the TPS65150 step-down switching regulator, which is a 4A, 8MHz, high efficiency, synchronous rectified buck regulator. It provides excellent current regulation and load transient performance. Its 3-stage architecture results in low ripple-noise and low EMI noise operation under light loads. The TPS65150 is one of the highest performance DC/DC synchronous buck regulators available, allowing for fast transient response and superior dynamic regulation. The TPS65150 also offers adjustable current limit with a peak pulse current of up to 8A.

The other main component in the TPS65150EVM-697 board is the TPS5411, which is an AC/DC (Off-Line) SMPS designed to provide a regulated output voltage with a single 1.5V to 5.5V input. The TPS5411 employs a fixed frequency, current mode, PWM to provide a constant peak current, continuous conduction topology with low EMI.
