The TPS658621AZGUT is a highly-specialized power management integrated circuit (PMIC) designed for mobile and consumer applications. It is optimized for mobile platforms that require high power density, optimal power efficiency and low total bill of materials (BoM). The TPS658621AZGUT is a 28mm², low-profile solution with a Power Management Unit (PMU) that provides up to four output rails, 16-bit ADC, two NAND Flash interfaces, two I2C buses, a SPI bus and two programmable timers.

The TPS658621AZGUT PMIC can generate 4 output voltage power rails and 4 LDOs. The power rails are: 3.3V, 1.8V, 1.2V and 1.1V. The LDO outputs are: 1.8V and 1.1V. The device is also capable of generating a reset signal which can be used to reset the system, or to indicate under-voltage/over-voltage/brown-out for system preservation. Output drivers are designed for high-voltage applications, up to 15V with protective diodes present for over voltage and reverse voltage conditions, for safe operation.

The TPS658621AZGUT PMIC also offers two high accuracy Analog-to-Digital Converters (ADC) with 16-bit resolution. The ADC is capable of measuring the input voltage, output voltage and current, as well as temperature. It also includes a fast-start feature, allowing the device to quickly start up in under 6µs.

The TPS658621AZGUT PMIC also includes two I2C buses, one SPI bus, and two programmable One-Time Programmable (OTP) Timers. The I2C buses can be used to communicate with external sensors and displays, while the SPI bus can be used to communicate with external memory or other peripheral devices. The programmable timers can be used to trigger events such as power up/down, control the system and LDO voltage, as well as reading off values from the ADC.
