The TPS68000DBT is a high-performance integrated dc-dc converter and synchronous buck controller targeted at mobile and portable applications. The device architecture is optimized to provide high current operation while minimizing total solution size. The extremely wide 6.5 V to 19 V input voltage range provides a very flexible power solution for both single and dual cell lithium-ion battery applications.

The TPS68000DBT can operate in a continuous mode to provide up to 3A output current or up to 5A in an transient-boost mode. It features adjustable output voltage in the range of 0.7 V to output battery voltage. The on-board internal FETs and fast loop response time allow the device to achieve fast transient response and high loop stability. It also provides an optimized start-up sequence that ensures fast turn-on of the system.

In addition to the two auxiliary power supplies, the TPS68000DBT also provides multiple synthetic PWM outputs that can be used to drive ballasts, lighting panels or other systems that require a variable DC voltage to provide power. The high efficiency allows the system to operate at higher frequencies and provide excellent performance in terms of current, voltage and switching regulation.
