It includes two different power conversion ICs, the TPS68000xx EasyPower family of synchronous buck controllers and the TPS68090xx range of synchronous buck converters, enabling the evaluation of varying types of power solutions.The EVM is made up of a control board, a power stage board, and an LCD panel which enable designers to touch on the user-interface that could be implemented on their device. The control board comes with a UART debug port as well as analog and digital endpoints for feedback and control. This allows for several options for debugging, including monitoring parameters such as duty cycle, frequency, and output voltage achieved by the power converter under test. Additionally, this board also provides a 4-channel GPIO to the user to interact with the power conversion IC.The power stage board of the EVM has two power FETs on each phase as well as a sensing resistor attached to the output of each buck converter. This can be used to measure the output voltage, current, and other values and can be used to infer the condition of the connected components and ensure efficiency and performance.The TPS68000EVM-161 also comes with an LCD panel to enable users to develop a graphical user interface for their projects. This LCD panel is 4.3" in size, has a resolution of 800x480 pixels, and is operated by a 24-bit RGB interface.The board also contains a 4V to 24V input supply with a single-board power solution, helping designers to quickly evaluate various power solutions.
