It is based on a standard closed-loop (linear) topology, which ensures a stable output voltage in response to input voltage droop or load transients. The device implements an internal positive voltage-regulation loop which is formed by a series combination of a reference, an error amplifier and an output driver. The voltage regulator regulation loop is enabled when the input voltage is larger than the reference voltage by a certain amount, typically 3mV.
