Working Principle

TPS76733QPWPG4 is a voltage regulator in the family of PMIC (Power Management IC) voltage regulators, which is a type of Linear voltage regulator. It is a positive adjustable, high current, low dropout linear-mode voltage regulator. It features an adjustable voltage range from 0.8V to 5V. It can deliver up to 7A output current with less than 10mV dropout voltage, and is able to hold the exact programmed output voltage despite transient and thermal variations.

The output voltage is compared to the internal reference voltage and the error amplifier computes the difference between the two voltages. This difference is also known as the error voltage. Conversely, the error amplifier causes the output voltage to go downward until the two voltages match.
