The TP7A6350EVM evaluation board is a linear voltage regulator primarily designed for testing power management applications. This evaluation board, which stands for “Test Platform for Linear Voltage Regulator 7A6350EVM,” provides a cost-effective evaluation platform for testing linear voltage regulators. The TP7A6350EVM evaluation board contains a linear voltage regulator (LVR) 7A6350EVM, which is an adjustable, low-noise, low-dropout (LDO), low-noise, cost-effective and energy-efficient linear voltage regulator. The evaluation board provides the ability to adjust the output voltage range from 0.8V to 1.2V, making it very ideal for low voltage applications such as those in Computers, cell phones and other portable devices. The evaluation board also includes overcurrent protection, reverse current protection, a maximum current limit, and undervoltage lockout features for improved system reliability.
The TP7A6350EVM evaluation board supports a wide range of input voltages from 5V to 20V and the output voltage can be adjusted from 0.8V to 1.2V. The LVR 7A6350EVM features a intelligent control interface (ICIF) that allows users to easily configure different operation parameters such as output voltage, slew rate, output current limit, overvoltage protection and temperature limits. The ICIF also provides the ability to monitor the input voltage, output voltage, output current, and temperature levels via I2C bus. The evaluation board requires minimal external components for its operation and includes on-board resistors, capacitors, and other components.
The TP7A6350EVM evaluation board features a short circuit protection of type 3, which prevents short circuit shutdowns and false protection signals. It also includes a power source disable feature which allows the user to power down the LVR in an emergency situation, as well as a thermal protection feature that shuts off the LVR if the die temperature goes above a certain limit.
