Tantalum Capacitors

Tantalum capacitors are capacitors, or electrochemical capacitors, composed of tantalum and electrolytes. These capacitors can have either a wet electrolyte or a solid polymer electrolyte. Their main advantage is their long lifespans, small size, strength, and high capacitance per volume ratio. Tantalum capacitors are widely used in many electronics due to these advantages. The capacitance of a tantalum capacitor is determined by the surface area of its anode. The type of electrolyte it uses and its total volume also effect its capacitance.
