PTC (positive temperature coefficient) resettable fuses are fuses made from a conductive polymer that provides over current protection with a low resistance segment at moderate temperatures which dramatically increases at higher temperatures. TRF250-090UT, specifically, is designed to limit (and eventually cut) the current in an electrical circuit when an excessive current has been detected.
