TS110-8UF is a general-purpose thyristors(SCRs). It is designed with a sensitive gate trigger structure, low current gate trigger, wide voltage range, high gate sensitivity and low gate power consumption. It has a maximum gate current of 25mA, a blocking voltage of 800V, and an on-state current range of 3-10A. In order to facilitate application, it has an air-cooled, hermetically sealed, and robust housings.
TS110-8UF is generally used for controlling and regulating electrical power in light loads and medium loads. Its main applications include electronic energizers, lighting dimmers, power supplies, motor starters, and UPS systems. In addition, it is also used in microwaves and other high power radio frequency components.
TS110-8UF has a bidirectional characteristic when its gate is open, which means that it can either absorb or deliver current, depending on the presence and direction of the applied voltage. The applied voltage is usually acquired from the user by means of external control signals. When the gate is open, the gate is said to be in the “on” state and the thyristor is said to be conducting. When in the “off” state, the gate is said to be in the “off” state and the thyristor is not conducting again.
When the gate current reaches a preset value, the low-voltage thyristor is switched off, and the voltage stays off until a new trigger signal is applied. At the same time, the anti-parallel diode can turn off the load current very quickly in response to the change in gate current. Thus, the low-voltage thyristor is held off until the trigger current is applied again.
The working principle of the TS110-8UF can be further divided into four stages. Initially, the gate must be in the “off” position. This no-current state is called the “off” state. Then, the applied voltage starts to build up in the device, gradually increasing the current across it. This is the “turn-on” state, or the conduction state. Then, once the voltage reaches a “holding” voltage, the device starts conducting and drawing current from the circuit. Finally, when the current reaches a certain level, the device enters an “off” state and the current stops flowing.
The TS110-8UF is a reliable and robust electronic component which can be used for a variety of applications due to its wide operational range and excellent gate sensitivity.
