Temperature-compensated crystal oscillators (TCXO) are essential components in all kinds of electronic products, and their wide application ranges from communication, precision computers and guidance systems to consumer electronics. As a vibration crystal oscillator, the working principle of TS184F33CET is based on the mechanical resonance phenomenon in quartz crystal. A quartz crystal is composed of a quartz sheet, and two metallic electrodes are embedded in two opposite sides of the sheet. When an external voltage is applied to the electrodes, a displacement current of the quartz sheet is generated, which then vibrates at the natural frequency and amplitude determined by the length and mass of the quartz sheet. This vibration current forms a feedback loop with the AC coupled external circuit, and thus a quartz crystal oscillator is formed. The frequency of the oscillator is dependant on the driving conditions and the Quartz Crystal itself.
