TSB41AB1GQE Application Field and Working PrincipleThe TSB41AB1GQE is a low-power, low-cost 32-bit communication interface chip that offers an easy solution for adding high-speed interfaces and multimedia capabilities to a wide range of consumer and industrial applications. This high-performance device is ideal for applications which require low bit-rates (up to 1.5 Gb/s) and which are not highly demanding in terms of latency and jitter.The TSB41AB1GQE is a polyphase clock and data device that serves as an interface between an upstream master device and one or more downstream slave devices. This device performs the time multiplexing of data and clock signals that are sent between the master and slave devices. This way, it eliminates the need to send multiple pairs of data/clock signals.The TSB41AB1GQE also offers low-power consumption, low-voltage operation, minimal system design/evaluation time and a high degree of flexibility. The device features both a standard Low Voltage Differential Signaling (LVDS) interface for data rate up to 1.5 Gb/s, and a flexible LVDS_MUX interface for data rates up to 8 Gb/s. This device is optimized for high-speed point-to-point applications such as low-power video, multimedia, and serial data communications.Apart from its primary role as an interface between an upstream master device and one or more downstream slave devices, the TSB41AB1GQE can also be used as a repeater to increase the distance between the master and the slaves. In such cases, the device is able to amplify and switch the signals between different power levels.The TSB41AB1GQE features a Flexible Input Mux Port, a Flexible Data Converter Port, and a Configurable Output Port. The Flexible Input Mux Port is used to enable the device to transcribe either an upstream master’s data or a downstream slave’s data, while the Flexible Data Converter Port serves as an interface between that master and slave’s data rates. The Configurable Output Port is used to enable the device to multiplex data and clock signals that are sent between the master and the slave devices.The device sports an output buffer with a maximum operating rise and fall edge speed of 95ps and a maximum operating frequency of 8GHz under room temperature conditions. It also has power saving modes, which can be used to reduce the power consumption of the device while maintaining the same performance.The TSB41AB1GQE is a highly reliable device.
