The TSF46H100DF float sensor works using the principle of buoyancy. This principle states that the upward force exerted on a submerged object is equal to the downward force due to gravity and is equal to the weight of the liquid displaced by the object. The float is placed in a cylindrical tube containing liquid and it rises and falls with the change in liquid level.As the liquid level rises, the float is forced upwards and pushes the stem of the sensor against a series of O-rings. A flexible diaphragm within the stem then deforms and this changes the capacitance of the dielectric material inside the stem. This changes the capacitance of the stem which is then converted into a voltage and sent to an input of an Arduino microcontroller. The internal circuitry then processes the voltage and the Arduino microcontroller reads and interprets the value.Applications of TSF46H100DF
