The TX810EVM is an evaluation and demonstration board and kit used to demonstrate and evaluate wireless capabilities in many applications. The board features the 4th generation RFID transceiver (TX810) from the Texas Instruments microcontroller family that utilizes Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technology for wireless communications. This UWB technology allows the board to communicate data at significantly faster speeds than other types of wireless technologies including Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Zigbee. The kit also provides a variety of supporting tools as well as example programs and software applications to help developers put together complex applications.
The ultimate goal of a TX810EVM is to enable customers to create and evaluate their own applications concerning the use of wireless communication. To do so, the kit includes various components such as the TX810 transceiver module, an MSP430F5269 microcontroller, a serial peripheral interface (SPI), a port expander board, and an RFA reference design board with software. Moreover, the board also features a USB interface, a serial port interface, and a debug board for in-circuit emulation.
The TX810 platform is built around a 4th generation RFID transceiver from the Texas Instruments microcontroller. It utilizes a low-power Ultra-Wideband (UWB) waveform modulated with a signal channel carrier to achieve fast and reliable wireless communications. The board operates on the 2.4GHz ISM Band, which is approved worldwide for wireless sensor networks. Its low power consumption enables long-range applications to be realized with low power, while the high data rate offers a data transmission platform for many applications.
The main advantages of using this wireless transceiver technology include its low power consumption, fast data rate, and low cost. Furthermore, its wide bandwidth and very short communication latency make it suitable for real-time, high data rate applications such as streaming video and audio. It has an integrated antenna as well as a receiver sensitivity of -92 dBm, providing a working range that extends up to 100m.
The use of the TX810 board can be divided into two main categories; laboratory test and field test. The board can be used to test and demonstrate all types of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) systems, including tags, readers and antennas. One of the main advantages of using the TX810 board in the laboratory is its ability to provide accurate data about RFID antenna performance in real-world conditions. The board can also be used to test parameters such as the range, sensitivity, read/write speed, power consumption, and security.
The TX810EVM board enables field test trials. This involves testing the performance of applications under varying conditions and locations. Since the board already contains an integrated antenna, it does not require any external tools or additional parts. Instead, it only needs to be connected to a computer. This board is particularly suitable for comprehensive end-to-end RFID system testing in realistic conditions.
Overall, the TX810EVM evaluation and demonstration board and kit offers a powerful solution for testing and demonstrating wireless capabilities. It boasts a variety of supporting tools, example programs, and software applications to help developers build complex applications. It also provides a low power, low cost, and fastdata rate platform for comprehensive RFID system testing and evaluation. The board also features an integrated antenna, USB interface, serial port interface, debug board, and an RFID reference design board with software offering easy implementation for end-to-end RFID system testing.
