The UF4004-M3/73 is a single phase, ultrafast, surface-mounted rectifier diode. This high power diode has a low forward voltage drop and is a part of the Kelif-Technology series of rectifiers. It\'s mainly used in switching mode power supplies and DC-DC converters.

The UF4004-M3/73 is constructed of an aluminium gallium arsenide (AlGaAs) and gallium arsenide (GaAs) P-I-N junction formed in a mesa structure which enhances the breakdown capability. It is housed in a small plastic package which is suitable for surface mount applications due to its low profile. The size of the package is 40x6x3mm.

The forward voltage drop at 25mA is only 0.72 volts and the peak repetitive reverse voltage is 75V. Maximum forward surge current is 4A. Maximum reverse leakage current at 25°C is less than 8 µA . Maximum reverse recovery time is less than 5ns at I f =30mA, I r =10mA.

The UF4004-M3/73 is mainly used for high-frequency rectification in switching mode power supplies and DC-DC converters, where a low voltage drop, high surge current capability and a fast switching speed are required in order to achieve a maximum efficiency.

It is suitable in applications such as adjustable switching regulators, DC-DC converters, LED drivers, solenoid drivers, relays and voltage converters, as well as on-board switching power supplies. It is also suitable for flyback and forward converters and other applications where low turn-on power loss is important.
