Working Principle of the UF4008-G

As the current flows through the semiconductor of the diode, it is converted from AC to DC.

The process starts when the diode is in forward bias. The forward bias means that the anode has a greater voltage than the cathode. When this occurs, the electric current will flow through the cathode to the anode, resulting in a DC current. However, when the reversed bias occurs, the flow of current is stopped because the electrons are captured by the cathode. This indicates that the current flow is then being reduced and the Voltage-Current (V-I) curve is showing that the current will not be able to go through the diode. This is the main principle that all rectifier diodes work on.
