TVS (Transient Voltage Suppressor) devices are devices used to surge protect electrical circuits and electronic components from transient electrical events such as spikes, ESD, or short duration voltage overshoots. This electric field is very sensitive to voltage level and when this “breakdown” voltage is exceeded, the device begins to conduct allowing current to flow freely.
In terms of surge protection characteristics, the V10H95P has a very high surge rating that can handle up to 95 joules of energy and over 600 Amps of peak current in much higher voltage and current applications. In addition, its fast clamping response time (less than 5 microseconds) allows it to react quickly to transients to protect against voltage spikes, ESD, and other over voltage events.
