This MOV works by forming a nonlinear voltage-current characteristic, which is used to reduce excessive voltage events that may occur in an electrical circuit. In the event of an overvoltage, the MOV will divert the excess charge on the circuit’s power line to the ground. The V18ZT05P comes with an option of two modes of operation, which are:  normal mode and surge mode. In normal mode, the device is able to clamp the voltage to 40V and in surge mode, the device is able to clamp the voltage to 125V. Moreover, the device is easy to use, has low capacitance, enhanced signal integrity, and comes in several package types for various applications. It also has a high surge current rating, making it suitable for automotive applications.
