<p>TVS - Varistors, MOVs is widely used in electrical and electronic applications to protect against electrical surges. The V230LU10CP is a multi-layered protection device with a special purpose semiconductor diode, reverse biased transient voltage suppressors(TVSs). The V230LU10CP is designed to protect against transients from common mode to differential mode that can cause electrical breakdown, false triggering or destruction of sensitive electronics.</p><p>The V230LU10CP offers protection in both modes, common mode surge and differential mode surge. It has a wide range of application fields such as AC line filtering and power supply protection, differential mode EFT protection, common mode surge protection and so on. In particular, its wide working voltage range from 8V to 260V makes it suitable for different high voltages application.</p><p>The working principle of the V230LU10CP is somewhat different from other transient voltage suppressors. It works based on the following three variables: Working Voltage, Breakdown Voltage and Trigger Voltage. The Working Voltage is the input voltage of V230LU10CP that the device can handle without getting damaged. The working voltage will determine the output power supported by the device. The Breakdown Voltage is the voltage at which the V230LU10CP starts to conduct. The Trigger Voltage is the voltage at which the V230LU10CP starts to switch off.</p><p>The V230LU10CP connects a pair of 2 pinouts across the printed circuit board or power cord ranging from 10 mils to 4 millimetres. When a voltage greater than the Working Voltage is applied across the two pinouts, the diode will breakdown, allowing electricity to flow from one pinout to the other. This breakdown current is then limited and the power/energy dissipated by the device is lowered. When the voltage drops below the Trigger Voltage, the device will switch off.</p><p>This protection device offers unique advantages such as low clamping voltage, fast response time, low capacitance, and fast surge detection. The low clamping voltage offers extra protection against EFT and increases the reliability of the device. The fast response time of the device ensures maximum protection against fast transient surges. The low capacitance helps protect high frequency components. Additionally, the fast surge detection capability ensures the detection of high amplitude fast transient surges faster than similar devices.</p><p>In conclusion, the V230LU10CP is a robust protection device that offers protection in both common mode and differential mode.
