V27ZT1P is a surface mount transient voltage suppressor (TVS) designed to protect sensitive electronic components from voltage transients. It is a bidirectional device provided in a Ultra Low Capacitance, Low Micro-reverse Leakage (MRL), and Ultra Low Capacitance package. The aim of this type of device is to offer a low inductance, low clamping voltage, rugged and reliable solution.

V27ZT1P can be applied in a variety of different applications within industrial, domestic, medical, automotive, and communication fields. It is used in the protection of low-holding-current and logic-level integrated circuits, semiconductors, telecommunications, and data transmission systems. It can also be used as a low voltage suppressor in various high-speed communication systems.

Working Principle:

V27ZT1P is a low-capacitance, low micro-reverse leakage (MRL), and Ultra Low Capacitance (ULC) bidirectional diode. Its working principle is based on the avalanche-conducting characteristics of a bidirectional TVS diode. The device is designed to respond to an overvoltage transient condition by conducting large surge current for a limited duration of time.

When an overvoltage transient condition occurs, the TVS diode acts as a resistor that reduces the transport current and reduces the voltage across the device. As the current subsides, the device clamps the voltage to a level limited by the avalanche-transition breakdown, but well above the levels that could damage equipment. The device has excellent effect in line-to-line and line-to-ground protection for sensitive electronic components.

In addition, V27ZT1P contains a positive temperature coefficient, which ensures a low stand-by power dissipation. Low on-state resistance ensures not only high surge current handling capability, but also low clamping voltage. Its low clamping voltage makes the device suitable for protection of sensitive electronics.
