The V385LT40CPX10 is a varistor, also known as a transient voltage surge suppressor, designed to protect circuitry from harmful effects of electrical transients. The device is rated for an operating voltage of 380V AC, a clamping voltage of 400V, and a maximum energy of 6J. It features a low leakage current and is designed with a noise-suppressing aluminum oxide layer for enhanced protection against ESD.Varistors are made up of two electrodes, each composed of a different metal oxide material. This charges the capacitor, and as the surge voltage slowly decreases, the capacitance slowly discharges, causing the device to return to its initial resting state. This helps to ensure that no single surge will destroy the V385LT40CPX10 and, in turn, any connected components.The V385LT40CPX10 is a versatile device that can be used in a variety of applications, from residential to industrial.
