TVS - Varistors, MOVs, are electrical components which are utilized broadly across an assortment of industrial, automotive and electronic applications. The V510LT80B Varistor is a special kind of TVS component and is designed to protect electrical equipment from transient voltage spikes. It is largely used in LED lighting, communication, security, consumer electronics, and other electric equipment. This Varistor has an operating voltage range of (2.3 – 80 volts) and its capacitance is between 1050 – 1450pF. It has a capacitor discharge current of 18mA and the maximum current ratings of 2KA 8/20µs. Also, the V510LT80B Varistor has a wide temperature range and is capable of maintaining its high performance between -40°C to +125°C. The nominal flame-resistant rating is UL 94V-0.The V510LT80B Varistor works on the principle of voltage sensitive capacitance. It is equipped with metal-oxide semiconductor varistors (MOVs) which increases its protective effectiveness. It is provided with two electrodes – an anode and a cathode – which are fixed to the metal oxide discs. The metal oxide discs characteristics are such that when excessive voltage is applied, the discs break down temporarily, reducing the current flow to almost zero. This reduced current causes the capacitance variances and reduces the risk of any system destruction.The V510LT80B Varistor also features a short “standby” time, even at high voltage. This means that it allows for an instant standby time after the transient voltage spike. This is an extremely beneficial feature of the Varistor because it prevents sudden power outages.The chief application fields of the V510LT80B Varistor include domestic and commercial LED lighting systems, telephone, security, consumer electronics and various other electric and electronic equipment. Its ability to protect from transient voltages and maintain the performance even at high temperatures makes it ideal for such applications.With its excellent electrical properties, the V510LT80B Varistor is one of the most reliable solutions for protecting electrical equipment from transient voltage spikes. Its high performance, short “standby” time and wide temperature range makes it ideal for a variety of industrial and domestic applications.
